Dev Log 6 - 2023-10-23 to 2023-11-01
This week we focused on fixing bugs and issues found during thee game testing sessions with the TA and GDDC. We also refined some pages such as the start screen, and also added / refined some assets such as the Cacti, Tumbleweed and multiple hats.,
Tasks Completed
- Fixed numerous bugs related to the UI
- Added fade in and fade out between scenes
- Completely revamped/improved player select
- Added countdown to player select
- Hat trajectory is now more predictable (moves towards player)
- Each player has their own hat model now
- Cacti, tumbleweed pivots fixed
- Fixed camera to stop adding dead players to the averaging calculation
- Fixed death plane so it works with multiple players
- New player models!!!!
- Fixed spawning mid game bug
- Fixed weird throwing bug
- Added Iframes
- Fixed bug where you hold objects when spawning in
Challenges
- Adding new assets requires a lot of modification and bug fixing
- As the changes get more layered and larger, it becomes harder to merge them together
- Dealing with Iframes was a challenge
